Hello - I'm at my wits end and really hope that somebody will be able to help me, or offer some advice
I have an Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6 (1999) - had it for a year or so now and has been working fine. Then about 1 month ago. The car stalled and wouldn't start again. It was very low on petrol and possibly run out. The AA came and took it to my local garage and then all was well but the car didn't really feel the same - it felt like it had lost its power, and was juddering a bit in lower gears - felt like spark plugs or fuel blockage ....
Took it to my local garage .. they have spent £300 on it changing the spark plugs to titanium tipped ones as well as replacing and fitting an air intake hose and breather pipe assembly. They said they can't do anything else and to take it to an Alfa Specialist.
That was yesterday .. went out this morning and the car won't start
Anyone offer any advice on what to do next? I live near Barnsley and I'm not even sure where the nearest specialist is? Would it be Sheffield?
I've had friends say it could be the electrics, or sediment in the pipes if it did run out of fuel - someone else reckons there is a sensor on the exhaust .. none of them even have an Alfa, so they are guessing really ....
Also should point out that in December when it was really cold, the fuel injection light kept coming on ... did a bit of googling and it seemed like it did happen from time to time when its cold .. but maybe it wasn't a coincidence
Thanks - Romeo
