drop link replacement help

Hi guys i have recently purchased some new drop links for my 1998 156 and was planning to replace them in the next couple of days weather permitting. The question is can someone give me a quick how to or point me in the direction of a guide to replacing them, i do have some mechanical know-how but would prefer some advice from the people who know best.

I am thinking about replacing the springs and dampers on my 156 soon would you advise doing them at the same time as i replace these? Will it make it any easier?

Thanks in advance

Have a look through this thread:

Doing the springs and dampers will make it a MUCH bigger job.

Changing droplinks is easy enough. Getting the old ones off will be the hardest part as the nuts'll be rusty. There's either a flat on the ball joint shaft for a spanner, or an allan-key hole in the end of them (which will probably round). You might end up cutting them off with an angle-grinder or something.

Make sure you have new nylock nuts with the links. You might need to jack up (or lower) the lower arm slightly to get the new one on.

Bit fiddly, but not too bad

Perhaps this is a silly question, but do you need 2 drop links per corner?

One roll bar end in each corner means .. one droplink per corner required !
