Very scary problem!
I just wanted to tell you about a problem I had with my 2004 GT.
For about a week or so there has been a knocking sound at the front right when going over uneven ground, sounds like the bushes on a cv joint had gone or something. So I was aware that it would have to go into the garage soon.
Last night when driving on the M25 I noticed a flicker on the VDC warning light, assumed it was just the usual alfa electrics...
The light then flickered again and suddenly the ABS kicked in on the front right wheel only causing all sorts of mayhem as the car pulled to the right at high speed. I caught it before it could spin but as I was braking I could still feel the ABS working away independant of what I was trying to do. At that point the car was still moving and the VDC system failure light was on all the time so I made my way slowly to a place of safety.
Has anyone else had this? Could it be a wheel bearing failure causing both the knocking sounds and a sensor failure making the ABS kick in?
