Heat gauge readings

Hi guys just a question regarding temp readings. With winter in full swing down here I find that at low temperatures (5 degrees celcius) driving at a constant speed like 80 - 90 km/h at 2000 - 2500 rpm the temp will go down at sit at 60 degrees on the heat gauge which is pretty low if I stop at a robot or slow down to stop go traffic it will be just below 90 degrees and stay there as it does during the day as well. Anyone else experience this or could the thermostat be faulty ?

You need a new thermostat.
