Non Starting 2.4 JTD - Help Please!
Hello All, I'm hoping someone will be able to give me a word of advise please?
I'm fairly handy with car mechanics, but new to Alfa's and the 2.4 JTD.
I changed the timing belt a few days ago. The 156 worked really well for two days but it would not start this morning. Could you give me a few tips regarding the first bits to check out?
For a whilte now the 'water in fuel filter' light has been flashing on occasionally for a second at a time, but I didn't realise this significance of this. I've not changed the filter yet.
When changing the timing belt and replacing the cam sensor I noticed it rubbed the cam pully very slightly. This was so slight that I didn't do anything about it - bad move possibly?
The car turned over fine, and fired up momentarily then died again. I'm wondering how delecate the cam sensor is or is water in the filter likely to be the cause? Should I consider anything else?
I be grateful for any thoughts.
