Got a 2.0 JTS GT Cloverleaf as a courtesy car...

It is in red and it looks bloody lovely, the little tweaks definitely further lift the car's appearance - the car parking attendant on the office car park got very excited by it when I pulled up.

The engine feels pretty feeble however - cannot believe it is 165bp! Not only does it lack torque, it also seems to have a very flat torque curve so there is no real pick up at higher revs. Also the noise is really rather dull and the car seems to lurch when trying to make fast gear changes.

By comparison I had a 167bhp 2.0 MK2 MR2 a few years ago and whilst I know the power to weight ration would have been better, the engine felt much more urgent and really deployed impressive twist if you held on until the redline.

Got decent fuel economy on my slog back into Manchester through a traffic jam on the M56 so not all bad. I have the car until Friday so will see whether it grows on me. So far I cannot wait to get my oil burner back!

Luck is the residue of opportunity and design...

I had that car a few weeks ago from Manogs.
Handles well, but twitchy on 18's
Agree the engine is gutless though - made my modded 2.4 feel like a rocket when I got back in the 159

I had a 2.0 JTS when our 3.2 went in and it felt gutless. Obviously we are used to a torrent of torque!
