Still not got anywhere. Alfa Aid diagnosed Lamda Bank 1 pre-cat. They changed it no difference. They then traced a wiring fault to a connector on the ECU. It then ran beautifully for a day, before the MCF light came on, it then got gradually worse to drive with the surging returning. Took it back to Alfa Aid, their diagnostics said cylinder 1 ignition fault, it didn't reappear when cleared, although still driving weird. They swapped the MAF, no difference. MCF light reappeared on way home, I read it at P1151 (bank 2 lamda 1 (which is also new). Alfa aid will have another look but I can't keep throwing money at this car and wasting time going backwards and forwards to garages.
What on earth could be going on.....? Any ideas most welcome, plus if anyone has the expected voltage outputs that should be read from the lamdas it would help. I can still only see one voltage using scantool. The throttle is actually opening and closing by itself, but whether this is the cause or an effect I don't know.
Anyone want to buy a 156 sportwagon.......??! Alternatively ,there's a few quid in it for someone who knows what they're doing to come round and do a proper diagnosis.
