Garage left the Radius Arm loose after tracking !!
Had my tracking done on a Hunter 4 wheel laser system in Slough (cost me £70, £50 for tracking + £20 labour of loosening the bolts), about 4 weeks later I had a persistent heavy clonking sound from the rear.
Local garage in Stoke found the the near side Radius Arms bolt were loose (in the centre of the car where the tracking is adjusted), I was shocked when they showed me the amount of side to side play in the rear wheel. I had thought the sound had been a failed shocker or the exhaust knocking the underside of the car.
I called the garage in Slough who did not sound concerned or apologetic, but said as a 'gesture' would pay for the car to be re-tracked in Stoke, but did not feel they have any further responsibility for the loose Radius Arm or the now uneven wear on the NSR tyre.
Was I in any danger when driving with loose radius arms bolts?
Any thoughts and comments welcome...
