microswitch in bonnet release mech

has anyone any ideas what the small microswitch in the bonnet release mechansim is in the 147 jtd i've had a good look at it and nothing makes contact with it even when the bonnet is closed i'm very curious as to what it can be

It'll be for the 'bonnet open' warning light...might be magnetic so nothing has to actually touch it.

Not sure if the alarm uses it as well to detect unlawful entry...

The switch is (or should be) moved by the bonnet catch when fully closed.
It is used by the alarm system.
