Hello guys and girls,
Recently (friday!) aquired a lovely 156 2.0TS with sportpack 3 nevola blue. She's an absolute beaut and i've already fell in love with her after driving a sheddy clio for a year
I've got a few problems but seem to have sorted one already with you guys' help! My dad whom I inherited the Alfa from recently had the MAF replaced as it had almost become undriveable (jerking, loss of power with full throtte)
This seemed to bring the car back to normal so he told me. It's only since I had it i've realised it was still holding back a lot after about 4000rpm. So after reading extensively about other peoples problems with the MAF sensor on here I decided to unplug it and take it out for a spin. Voila! Full power returns
. Would anyone be able to advise me on the best place to source a new genuine bosch MAF? I was wondering also whether it's ok to drive for now with the MAF unplugged or should I plug it back in?
The other major problem i'm having is it seems to overheat constantly. The temp gauge is showing it going up to 110 degrees after a while. I would have thought it would have exploded if it got that hot
My dad seems to think there may be a leak in the radiator somewhere. I filled it up with water yesterday but it's still overheating. So I went out and brought some radweld but thought i'd ask you guys first before proceeding. I also should mention I have a spare rad sitting in my garage which can be fitted if necessary. Could the temperature gauge be faulty? As i've read a lot of people on here having that very problem.
Anyway any help would be appreciated
