Changing the cam variator
Hi, there i have finaly had enough of my alfa 156 sounding like a tractor at start up so i think it's time to finaly change the cam variator. The problem is it dosen't effect the car's peformance at all, it idels and rev's fine with no loss of power at all , it's only started to sound like a tractor about a month after i bought it, the cam belt, tensioners etc etc had already been changed and the alfa has only done 2-3k miles max since. Is it woth flushing the engine and replacing the oil with fully symptheic oil as its running on semi sympthetic oil at the moment, do you think it would make much diffrence?
If i did get the variator changed would i really have to get a new cambelt etc, or shld i not be so tight and get it changed again!??
Thanks for any advice given
