engine management staying on

Hi I went to see an Alfa 156

The engine management light on the dash was coming on and saying take to dealer.

The seller said he would get this fixed before selling the car to me.

Should I forget about going through with the sale incase the owner gets it fixed and the fault returns.

Any ideas.

Re: engine management staying on

Depends what it is, and how it's 'fixed'.

I'd ask to see proof of what the fault code is/was, and how it has been fixed. It could be something fairly simple.

When viewing the car again, make sure the engine light comes on with the ignition, and goes out after it's started. Just in case the 'fix' is to remove the bulb

If you want a second opinion, I could connect it to AlfaDiag and read the fault code(s).
