Temp high when driven hard

The temp of my 2.4jtd goes nearly to the third mark when driven with a heavy right foot. Whilt driving steadily it stays at 90. When i got the car 18 mnths ago it ran hot when driven hard. The cam belt etc and water pump were changed. The old pump had bits missing from the plastic impellars. After pump change it ran to cool so i changed thermostat and has been at 90 for the last 15k miles. But now has started its old habits again! Radiator looks good no missing fins. My thoughts are flush cooling system but it concerns me where the bits of missing impellar are and if they could now be causing the problem. Any ideas appreciated thanks Rich

Re: Temp high when driven hard

My 1.9jtd creeps too with a heavy right foot but has been running cold as my stat is stuck open and I haven't got round to changing it. The little charge cooler is the same in yours and mine so it could just be that it can't cope as its become degraded with time. The stat failing is pretty common so could have gone again.
