I had something similar, like a metallic ringing sound. Figured it's the starter motor, the reason you are hearing it AFTER you start the engine is because the solenoid is sticking, and after pushing the gear into position to engage the flywheel, it is not retracting fully, and scraping against the ring gear. After a few seconds, the solenoid shaft retracts further, and hey presto, the sound stops.
A pig of a job on the V6, so I've learned to ignore it when it does happen (hasn't for months, now!), but it scared the pants off me the first time it happened!
If you can play a guitar and harmonica at the same time, like Bob Dylan or Neil Young, you're a genius. But make that extra bit of effort and strap some cymbals to your knees, suddenly people want to get the hell away from you.
