selespeed reverse select delay
Hi everyone, I am fairly sure I have problem here but the question is how serious is it?
I have had my 147 now since about feb this year. Once or twice I noticed a slight (1 maybe 2 sec and its always the same amount of time) delay when selecting reverse upon first starting the car (I think it may have happened once with 1st but cant be sure).
As it happened so rarely I didn't think much of it. However this last week its happened 3 or 4 times. What seems to happen is after starting the car I select reverse there is a slight delay or perhaps a second maybe 2 then I hear the clunk, R will show on the dash and the beeps will sound. It seems mostly to happen after the car has been park over night or all day but I have had it happen once in the morning after stopping the car for 5 - 10 minutes. The pump seems to be fine, it pressures up when I open the door and the sound seems to be quite consistent.
The car has only recently been serviced, my mechanic did say there was a selespeed fault logged, however he didn't seem to concerned and cleared the log and it didn't reappear for him. He didn't write the fault down so without speak to him I can't remember what it was. I have checked the selespeed oil level and it seems to be fine. Battery was changed in June 08 so I don't think that is a problem.
The car seems to drive fine otherwise, it is not jerky and has not done anything else odd. I have had a hunt around on here, there is someone in the selespeed fyi who seems to have had a similar issue but I'm sure they had delays for up to 5 secs, in that case I believe it was the shifting sensors?? Any Ideas what this could be.
