Just found the papers for the warranty.
It is detailed as 'Mechanical Breakdown Insurance' and is provided via Red Sands Insurance (Europe) Limited.
It details the parts covered on a sheet entitled 'Premier Plus - parts'. This seems to provide a pretty exhaustive list of mechanical parts covered, including clutch and flywheel.
The Ts and Cs do state however that it will not cover any pre existing faults at the time of purchase.
I haven't heard of this insurance policy before James Junior but I am extremely surprised that the Alfa dealership are not offering you the correct official Alfa Romeo AlfaCare Premier warranty. Can you name the dealership? Being Cheshire is it.....Mangos?????
Actually, if it's a car under 4 years of age, and if they are selling it under the 'Alfa Romeo Approved' scheme, I am sure that as a franchised dealer they should be providing you with the correct AlfaCare warranty? Unless, of course, and because of the GT's overall condition, they are unable to do this?
Alarm bells should be ringing here. Ask them why they are not offering the correct AlfaCare Premier warranty. It may be just down to premium, (I bet the one they're offering is cheaper), but you can bet the policy they're offering is nowhere near as good as the official one!
As I say, tread carefully on this one!!
P.S. If you want a copy of the AlfaCare Premier warranty, PM me with your email address and I'll send a copy of the Ts & Cs over to you.
