Down on power

hi guys

im having problems with my 156 2.5 v6 24v auto, i bought the car knowing it would need some work to get her the way i want (wheres the fun if its already perfect ay) but ive noticed its certainly down on power, my friend has a 1.6 fiesta zetec s and on acceleration its pretty evenly matched to mine which cant be right can it?? the fiesta is standard as is my alfa.

i did accidentaly ground my car out on a country road which resulted in the downpipe of the exhaust which connects the 2 manifolds now having a tiny hole in and a large (10"-12") flatspot, could this cause the problem??

if not then im open to other suggestions any help is welcome

Re: Down on power

It could do if the pipe was narrowed enough, creating excess back pressure in the exhaust and preventing the normal flow of gases though the engine.
