It's not that weird at all. 156's have loads of different airbag systems, made by Allied Signal, Magnetti Marelli and a company named Harrison. Some were with side airbags, some without. Some of the cars had wiring loom adapters, in order to fit old wiring with new seats and vice versa. In order to reset the ECU, you have to fit it into a testing loom, or an actual car that will match the above criteria. And that's a tough one. If , for instance the side airbags are missing the ECU will set a PSAB or DSAB error, and you just cant reset the TDC and pull out the plug before the ECU realises something is missing. You need to have a fully working testing loom or car to reset it properly.
