Halfords Oil Filter Price Shock
I've bought the oil for my 2.0TS, and a set of allen sockets. All I'm missing is the filter. I usually go to my local motor factor and buy Fram filters for whatever car I have at the time as obtaining OE ones can be a ball-ache. I'm not a filter snob and assume that as Fram invented the oil filter they probably know how to make a proper one.
However, I was passing Halfords yesterday so thought I'd nip in and get one from there. They are usually a little bit dearer (50p-£1) and but it saves me the bother of parking in leafy Farnworth and mixing with rif-raff from the motor trade at the factor's counter.
To my shock, I discovered that Halfords wanted TEN QUID for one of their own brand filters. I didn't pay that much for the oil!!!
A genuine Alfa one is now on its way for a little over £6.
