Noisy V6 under load
I have had a rather noisy problem with my V6 for some time now. When the car is under load, say in a higher gear at low revs (2k for example) and accelerating, I am getting a noise similar to that of a worn/dry bearing. This only happens when accelerating though, even under slight load, and is one of those noises that is impossible to trace when stationary with the bonnet up!
I am wondering if it is something to do with the power steering pump, as I have noticed mine is rather noisy (compared to other cars), especially on full lock, mainly noticeable when parking. Although I had a new steering rack fitted around 5000 miles ago. The fluid levels are fine.
Are any other bearings on the aux belt drive known to fail, as I am sure this is where it is coming from, or is there anything I can try to diagnose the problem?
Any help appreciated!
