Radiator replacement 156 1.9 JTDm

On top of all my other recent woes, it looks like the radiator has given up the ghost. Any tips on how to replace it ie remove slam panel etc

Re: Radiator replacement 156 1.9 JTDm

Hi there,

changed mine on my v6 last week in 1 hr 10mins

no need to remove slam panel or bumper!!!!

Remove floor, both chrome fins either side of bonnet catch, fog light surrounds, only break first top and bottom clip on lower grill to access fixings for condenser, no need to completely destroy it as others have said.remove intake hose from maf body, seperate fans from rad and cable tie out of the way, undo fixings for cross member and lower rad, unclipping ac pipes as you go, also airbox will come down at this point, no need to remove either. Then rad should come out of the bottom of the car, leave the rubber mount at the top as this does'nt need to be removed either as some have suggested, then undo top and bottom hoses, bottom is a quick release. Drain coolant before rad is finally removed remembering to take off header tank cap. Hope this helps!

This is not in any order, it's just what needs to be done ok, and i found it really easy which was not what i was expecting
