Selespeed beeps and buzzes
Need some clarification on the Selespeed system and was hoping someone could help on the following:-
a) When turning the car off, the gear indicator in the rev counter will stay lit for a couple of secs, then turn off. That's normal. However, when it turns off, there are a few beeps that accompany it.
My mate's 156 doesn't have this, nor do some others he's tested. Is there something wrong with the system??
Note: I'm not talking about the warning buzz that comes on when the car is turned off in Neutral. This happens in First. In Neutral, I get the warning buzz AND this other beep.
b) The manual states that the car should NEVER be left in Neutral. Is this a mechanical caution related to the Selespeed or is it a precaution against idiots who neglect to use the handbrake?
Personally, I prefer to leave the car in Neutral after hard running so that the clutch plate is not engaged.
c) Is it my imagination or does it shift quicker (under 5000rpm) in City mode than in semi-manual mode?
(Not that i use the City mode, naturally... wink )
Thanks in advance
