Selespeed 156 can't shift in first gear!
I have Alfa 156 2.0 TS Selespeed, year 1999, mileage 71000.
This morning I started the car normaly, but the problem is that I can't shift to first gear. I can shift to R and to N, with no problems, but when I push up for the first gear, nothing happens, no sound, no flashing on display, no warning lights, nothing, it just stays in N or R. I tried turning off and on the car, and trying again but nothing.
Last night I drove my car back home with no problems or signs of ptoblems. It's springtime here (20 degrees Celsious outside), so it's not cold or hot. My battery is fine, and it starts the car normaly. When I open drivers door I can hear the pump works and sounds normaly. I cannot find any leakage of oil or anything else below the car. I tried disconnecting the minus from the battery for 1 minute, and it reset the counter, but nothing else happened.
Any clues of what could be the problem?
I have read other threads with similar problems, but everybody else have "flashing of N, R, 1, or 2 on display or warning lights on, gears jumping", but I don't have these simptoms.
I forgot to say that I rarely (once a month) have a problem that during driving I suddenly cannot shift from 2. to 3. gear, I have to pull over, turn off the engine, start it up again, and everything works normaly again.
