Oh yes.... miracles do happen!
I (as in me, myself) have added a whole litre of oil to my engine yesterday. http://www.alfaowner.com/forum/ubb/icons/icon50.gif
I cleaned my car thoroughly, and then... decided to pop the bonnet, to remove the leafs that were underneith... :
So after digging up the manual to find out how to open the bonnet, my eye fell on an intrigueing yellow ring that stuck out of the engine.
Then I remembered that sticker the dealer had stuck on my sun visor when I got my car, which read "Heeft u het oliepeil al gecontroleerd?" (fyi: "Have you checked the oil level?"), and decided to give this magic ring a pull!
To my concern I found that the oil level was slightly bellow the bottom pimple on the stick, therefore TOO LOW!! eek!
So I went to the gas station and bought a nice bottle of 10W40 (this is good, right?) and threw the whole thing in what I think is the right hole. Now the level on the stick is about 3/4 up between the two pimples.
Now, my car is @ 30,000kms.... and had service @ 20,000. Before, it didn't ever use a drop of oil. Now suddenly it does.... The only thing I've done different is that I've done a door-to-door drive from Amsterdam to Paris and from Paris to Amsterdam 2 weeks ago, best time being a mere 3h10m eek! , with my car revving 5000rpm for that whole time....
could that use oil in a car that normally doesnt!?
Anyway.... what do you think... am I finally a man, now that I can fill my own oil!?
