Well my search for pad prices has got some very helpful info I'd like to share. hope its appreciated wink
All pads sold for road use in the EU, are now subject to Euro regulation R90, which states that ANY pad for ROAD use cannot operate at '-' or even '+' 15% of the original pads performance. (inc all the red dot, EBC etc pads)
This means the DS2000 in dead, as it exceeded +15% and was sold for road use
BUT: 'DS performance' is now the pad they sell for fast ROAD use, but being subject to the law (as its sold for road), it is at best +15% of originals, with a coefficient of friction of 0.42 (so original is thus about 0.37) . It does have a thermal barrier though, UN-like the DS2000, to stop heat transfer to the caliper/brake fluid, and reduce brake fade
BUT EVEN BETTER
: Ferodo now make the DS2500. This is sold as a 'track day pad' wink (sneeky), as it does not meet Reg R90 - it WAY exceeds the +15%
, and it does have a thermal barrier as well too!!
It coeff if friction is 0.52
(DS2000 was about 0.45).
Also, Ferodo motorsport UK importer (Circuit supplies, +44 (0)1525 385888) have said that the DS2500 operates BETTER from cold than the DS2000, as it has more Carbon (?) - he said, from cold the DS2500 would be a tiny bit worse than original, but only one application would bring it to life, as opposed to 2-3 for DS2000.
ONLY for track use, the DS3000 has a coef of 0.61, and the DS3000+ of 0.69 (F1 stuff).
So part numbers- Note i am positive they are right, but if they ain't don't blame me - double check first
