Hi Sam,
Just for your information Australian spec 156's have different dials to the rest of the world.
If anyone has the parts CD you will see that Australian cars have unique Speedo, Tacho and centre gauge cluster.
Due to Italian interpretation of the Australian design rules the chrome rings were deleted from Australian delivered cars.
The dials do interchange and some Australian cars may have come in accidentally fitted with the chrome ringed instruments but not many.
It would be unlikely to find a wrecked car in oz with the chrome rings although NZ spec cars did have them- there are a few being wrecked over there- try as they often have some interesting stuff and do ship to Australia.
There are quite a few other differences for Australian cars, so be careful when looking at accessories and parts from overseas.
For example the door mirrors are different. Rest of the world has two mirrors the same size but Australia has a special driver's door mirror which is larger than the LH side one and has a flat glass instead of convex. Even invisible things like doorlocks are wonder it is so expensive to import cars here...

Thanks for the reply there any chance of letting me stick my head inside that big bin out back full of faulty parts

Im going to check out that NZ wrecker, thanks for the link. Im pretty sure the chrome surrounds for the air vents and door handles will interchange ok. The only reservation i have is that maybe since the facelifted 156 has a different textured/colored dash and door trims, perhaps the air vents and door handles will b a different colored plastic too.

"Changing topic" how about changing decade

Did you check out the date of the thread first?

Why not do a search and if you don't find what you are looking for (you will, been posted plenty times) then start a new thread with appropriate title so people will resond.

Just a bit of friendly advise rather than a tongue lashing
