flat battery

Just wondered whether my battery is on the way out or whetherthere is likely to be another explanation. This morning the battery didn't have enough to start the car (JTDm), it turned over about once and died. ended up bump starting it. The car was running fine yesterday ad didn't notice it being slow to turn over. Just been out in it over lunch with no problems (had a bout a 15 mile journey this morning).

I didn't notice any doors ajar or interior lights on this monning that could have flattened the battery over night. Any one got any thoughts before I go and buy and fit a new battery. I have heard that modern diesels can be quite sensitive to a drop in battery amps meaning they won't turn over, more so than a petrol or older diesel. any thoughts would be appreciated.
