I'm gobsmacked yours loses it up top without the cat Jason, thats where the biggest benefits were felt with mine. It pulls to 7K like a thing possessed!
Suprised a 2001 2.5 V6 has 4 cats and lambdas. Even if you bashed the first two out and it brought the error light on the car would still pass MOT emissions though.
Its surprised me Pud, I got loads of mid range now (well more than before) but up at the top its well down, the whole character of the engine is affected...
On some of the straights coming home its down speed by about 10mph compared to before, just won't rev freely past 5500rpm.
As stated earlier its a hell of a lot noisier too, it sound like on of the cars from the rally school down the road, a real animal, and I even had some people in an Astra flashing me as I roared past the other night...Its coming off this weekend.
The guy who MOT'd my motor did say some cars don't work with a de cat, needing some resistance to flow air???
He runs a 200bhp Nova rally car, and repairs cars for a living???
Also my Cybox is a very free flowing exhaust, my mate suggested putting a silencer in where the cat used to be???
My old (dead and cut up) cat had a muffler on the back of it.Is that normal?
