<strong>Afraid not, but Autoexpress is nothing but a comic, - motoring journalism at it's lowest. If it was a newspaper, it would be the 'News of the World', or utter pap in plain English.
Putting the GTA up against the Subaru Impreza is just daft. Against the STi it's ludicrous! The Scooby piddles on the GTA in every area other than looks. The Scooby is cheaper to buy, holds it's value better, is more economical, faster (by a big margin), handles better, rides better, is better built and reliability wise is almost bulletproof.
But some people prefer a GTA over a WRX and an Alfa over a Rice Racer and good on 'em.
Me, WRX 5 dr in black with gunmetal alloys please

- Well they put it first anyway. Anyway the GTA is quicker to 100 I seem to recall, and has a higher top end too, and does not look like a 7000£ jap motor inside, or **** outside, and had higher actually cornering grip, if not quite as good handling. Autoexpress are pretty objective generally (not that I buy it, just read now and again) - are you thinking of Autocar - ne 'autocrap'?
You could get a older mark 1 STI for what you'd get if you sold the AR, if thats your bag.
But when you park it and walk away, will it make you turn and look back? My 156 does still after 2 years
And at the end of the day that counts!
Hold the rear end slide....don't run wide!
