They have loads of overspill anyway - thats the reflector and lens design not the bulb - but the upgrades give a longer beam, thats kinda the point. your aim def sounds buggered, cos set to 3 with no load, they should virtually only light up that badger AS you hit it.
So try getting the aim done properly(5£ per light) with std bulbs, then try - I am more chuffed with mine than when I posted, after doing some miles in the rain this w/e.
As for Blue bulbs, they are total rubbish for seeing where you are going - as they remove light (to give the blue colour). +50% xenon give a more HID appearance anyway, as the light is hotter (whiter light)
