All fixed and picked up yesterday, the belt snapped at 66686 miles, good job I'm not superstitious.
New rockers, tappets, belt, gasket, oil, filter & waterpump supplied by ARUK, but due to superseded parts the bill for these came to £800, not the original quoted £500, this had to be re-approved by ARUK, but was all sorted by the dealer, I only found out yesterday.
Plus a discount from the dealer brought the labour charges below £700, so all in all I suppose that's around about what we would have paid the dealer to carry out the 72'000m service so not that bad at the end of the day, (especially considering Fergie69s situation)
I noticed a new chip in the paint on the drivers door this morning, but since the car has been under the care of 4 different parties since I last saw it, there's not much I can do other than get the touch-up pen & cocktail sticks out.
Having the 159 for over week with it's short gear change has made changing gear in the 147 feel a Bedford TK, but I hope I'll soon get used to it again.
Blue & Me is
I had got so used to the 159s auto wipers that when got the 147 back I didn't turn the wipers on when the rain started, then forgot to turn them off when the rain stopped, So... exactly the same as the auto wipers then
