I have parked mine up for 3 weeks before - started first time no problems, can't see it being necessary to disconnect the battery but it does mean you can be sure its not flat, and also slows down anyone trying to steal it (with the key).
Main security thing would be to think about where you are leaving the key and spare key - unless you can secure them in the house maybe at a friends... you can trust...
If you put it away wet with handbrake on it might seize, I would leave in gear with handbrake off and block under the wheel if it were me.
