Wave 156 Floor Pan Corrosion

Could any member that owns a 156 and has had corrosion develop on the Floor Pan at the rear of the car just where the drain slits are located , please list your car make and model and year and how bad the corrosion is. thanks. I am trying to compile a list for myself as my 156 2.4 jtd has developed the forementioned corrosion and i am trying to claim under the 8 year anti corrosion warranty. And before you ask it has full alfa history with the 3rd and 5th year anti corrosion checks done as i have owned it from new. Thanking for your help in advance.

"i have owned it from new"

I think if u payed full price for a alfa you should get the next model up half price

my 156 needed underside welding for its last Mot (£40) to repair

Re: 156 Floor Pan Corrosion

Got 2.
One came from Scotland (2001 model), lots of salt on the roads and has what's is becoming serious issues in described area. It passed last MOT as that area is not structural.
Other, from England (1999 model) has less of a problem but it is there and until I get it welded will obviously get worse.
Intend to get mobile welder in when time and money allows.
£40 sound very cheap to me.

Re: 156 Floor Pan Corrosion

I think you ought to discount any that have had accident damage including 'shock' damage from something further back. Body Repairers are very poor at correct anti-corrosion protection.
