Stuttery 156 TS ?

Ok, sometimes my 1.8 twinny stutters and loses power whilst driving (from cold start) , not right at the start but when i'm a few hundred yards down the road doing 40-60mph range, it does settle down however as the rest of my journey is mainly 50-60mph for 14 miles or so.

This doesn't happen when doing anything particular just starts whilst driving?.

I do have a broken airbox lid and a rather dirty dirty air filter (new box/filter on its way), i also have a new MAF on its way as i suspect that is on its way out as i have an issue that when i dip the clutch to stop or slow down to a stop the engine hunts up to 1500rpm a couple of times then settles...weird.

Any thoughts guys?

Get those other bits sorted first then see ... (tbh it does sound like your car is being starved of air ... had the same thing with my lawn mower, it would stutter until I gave it a good service - the air filter weighed about 45kg with the amount of rubbish in it!!!!)

Re: Stuttery 156 TS ?

as Chris said, lack of air, or over fuelling due to an air leak post maf.

the maf could be dirty due to the broken air box lid

there could be oil/water around the spark plugs
