My Yoko AVS Sport looked thick, noisy, but had very good ride. The new Contis look thinner, quieter, slightly firmer ride but also good steering response.
It's not so much the ride quality you should worry about because you can probably tolerate that. It's the damage to the wheels (from 40s tires), and the consequences to the speedometer (from smaller rolling radius) that you should be concerned.
