Here's some confirmation that "spatzy" isn't alone in this experience. I had the following failures earlier this week:
1/ Boot wouldn't open
2/ Windows wouldn't work manually
3/ No Puddle lights
4/ No external temp reading
5/ Flashing odometer/mileometer
6/ Driver frustration!!!
...and I've literally just fixed mine with the driver's door control removal/refit fix. And it works! Just to be clear, because there's a lot of subtly different posts on other threads, I disconnected the window/mirror control module (without the keys in the ignition), tried popping the boot [nothing], refitted the module, everything worked!
No disconnected batteries
No partially dead batteries (battery health windows are apparently a red-herring anyway. See my other thread)!
No replacement blown fuses
No replacement non-blown fuses
No expiration of mileage-to-next-service on the computer
I have to say that [apparently] I had a new Body Computer and definitely new driver's and passenger's window modules (bottom-rear corner of each door) a couple of months ago. However, the car's been used extensively since and this is the FIRST occurrence of the problems listed above. I too don't really want to book it in now it's fixed, but one more occurrence then I'll pull them up on the claim of a new Body Computer and get it dealt with under warranty.
