147 Factory Radio/Cassette

A colleague of mine has a base 147 with radio cassette. He went to Halfords(!) to get the stereo changed and the oik claimed that there was "only one power" wire so he couldn't get it to switch off with the ignition as the current stereo does.

Anyone here changed a base 147 and confirm whether there is a wiring adapter required or was the spotty yoof talking out of his rear-end?

I had the radio cassette and I replaced it with a Kenwood CD-MP3 player , nothing like that came up... eek!
Maybe he should ask the local Alfa dealer...
Good luck
