The fuel treatments help with things like keeping emissions low, and many dealers use them at service time anyway. I can't see this would help you though. My gut feeling would be that there is something wrong with the boost - maybe an air leak somewhere? I would not recommend you go for a remap until you have sorted this problem out. The JTD should pull like a train up to 4000rpm, so something does sound amiss. Has it been like this since you got it, or has it become apparent recently??
It seemed to have gotten worse after about two weeks of buying it.
To clarify this : I can be on a flat road and the engine seems to struggle to reach 4000 revs in second and third gear.
It does race upto 3500 then theres a dip, then it seems to recover slowly.
Dont get me wrong the cars not majorly slow but I would expect better performance out a 2.4 turbo diesel as the torque should push it well upto 4000 no probs.....
The worst thing about all this is that my girlfriends got a 2.0 litre Turbo diesel mondeo and it feels like it's going to take off in third gear with foot flat down in comparison to my ( superior ) car LOL
Definately doesn't sound right.
You could do with having a go in another one for comparison. Any of your local dealers got one on demo? Last service I had they lent me a 2.4 Lusso.
Mine pulls seamlessly until say 4,350 and then tails off, calling it a day at 5,000.
Fuel cleaner won't do it any harm. Out of interest, is it smoking a lot??
Hi Julio, Try Piccadilly at Knaresborough. They had a 2.4JTD Veloce on demo, a while ago, it might still be there. Also the roads are better around knaresborough, than Horsforth or leeds centre.
good luck..............maybe there is a chink in the JTD's armour then Rick? wink
