Re: Help My alfas broke down
OK, thought it would go quiet,
Things to check:
Turn off all ancileries, fan, lights, radio etc.
Make sure when you attempt to start the engine that the yellow code light is not illuminated.
When you turn the key, listen to the staerter, if it sounds faster than normal then it's stripped the cam belt teeth, they don't always snap and when you look they still appear fitted correctly.
If it turns and it seems to be normal speed then does it sound like it's firing or not?
To really help out you need to plug this into a code reader, but as a rule if the car will start this morning then when it gets warm again it cuts out, then it's a faulty crank sensor and you'll just need to replace that.
I do suspect though that because the car wont run you have stripped the cambelt and it's going to be rebuild time.
