156 rear suspension problem or not?
On a previous thread I asked whether there was anything other than "stiction" holding the rear strut/spring to the rear wing, after being advised it was sticky rubber I decided to use pnetrating spay to soak it ready for my next attempt, as before I removed the top nut and the metal ring and rubber/metal spacer. This time when I re-assembled them I wasn't being rained on in the dark and I noticed that when the top nut is torqued down onto the metal plate the rubber pacer is (or appears) not to be clamping down on the wing, i noticed that the nut clamping the lower rubber/metal ring onto the top of the spring/shock is a "full" nut and it is what stops the top rubber clamping to the wing. Question: should this be a "half" nut which has been replaced with the wrong part at some previous time. Car is a 98 with 105k on the clock so I think it unlikely they are the original ones. Any ideas?
