Can anyone help.
I have a strange problem with the starting of my car. tuen the alarm off, and open the door (a slight buzzing noise starts) fot on the brake, tuen the key to P1 until check is done, then still with foot on the brake tuen key full. The car clicks and thats it. Get out turn alarm on and leave. Come back hours later and it starts first time.
AA says its the alarm/immobiliser .
Has anyone else had this problem????
it would appear so, te AA guy disconnected the battery for 2 mins put the key in P1 reconnected and it started. But when i spoke to alfa they said there is no way they can de-sensitise the thing.
The AA beleive it is caused by scanners and other alrm keys so mine just lockes up for 2 hours...i think its my key causeing the problem frown
I don't think your key is giving faulty signals. If so it would do that all the time and not just part time imo. But it is easy to test if your key is the problem. Leave the key at home for a while and use the spare key for a while.
I've had my immobilizer device changed 3 times in my previous car, a 156. But behaviour then was different. Car wouldnt start, but you could hear the electrical startengine work. Not just a click, but the same you'd have as if you have no ignition. Plus, a small key-led in the dashboard came on. I then could start the car using the emergency procedure as described in the manual.
This sounds different. Couldn't it be too low voltage in the battery?
