Acceleration, revs, Idling and General Pains.
Got a 156 2.5 with 142K Km's on the clock
Like all Alfas, the girl is having a bit of a tizzy..
In the Morning when she idles it is at 1250 or 1000 rpm. If you stab the accelerator, it can come idle as high as 1500.
When I pull off, the car splutters, and almost backfires, and if you press the accelerator, the car almost dies and judders. At Idle Speed she will move along
Once she is warm it is better.
When you take your foot off the accelerator, the rev counter does not come down smoothly. almost as if t is sticking. It will hesitate at about 1250 and 1000 then drop to 750 odd.
The Speedo also sticks.
Occasionally she will hesitate at about 5000 rpm when accelerating and then "Kick in".
Switch on clutch pedal is defiantly sticking.
Clutch was stiff for a small section of travel near the top. That went away.
Changing gears is tricky, as no matter how careful you are she will most certainly jerk on half the changes.
Gearbox is rough in the morning and second is a *******. Afternoons are ok.
Clutch 25000Km old
Clutch slave 18000Km old
Anyone got any ideas.
