Have you got another sellespeed ecu to hand that you could swap over. It could be a ecu fault. Just a thought.?
Only 'spares' i now possess is the original leaky actuator from Drogheda & thats been well raped at this stage
Clutch speed sensor is a good place to start.
I removed & it looks 100% perfect, not scoring or not damaged in any way
Autolusso has 2 sele ECU's for sale 50 quid
p.s. but Smaky may just given the clue ...
cheers for the 'tip'
This swapping ecu can be a very dangerous thing when not trained on the logic of tghese systems as these ecu's can be matched to engine software as there was a campaign to update the 2 softwares and as far as I remember you have to buy both ecu's together. If the car is still a problem get it brought to my workshop as I have never had a selespeed get away and I am nearly 10 years working on them as sometimes you need info from the examiner as after market diag systems dont always carry all the error codes or information....
I don't have an ecu to swap BUT it had crossed my mind to buy one. Thanks for the tip re: requiring BOTH ecu's as spares.
Since I posted last I've made significent progress. I've figured out, using Alfadiag, how to do a complete calibration, 3 times i've been able to do this.
In fact there IS a sequence of things needed to be done via Actuators in order to make it happen.
When the 'N' is on the diplay i can toggle up/down thro the gears 1 <--> 5 & back to Rev & select 'N' at at time.
just in for supper, going out agian in a mo.... report agian later.
BTW: there is a Myth out there that the engine & gearbox have to be 'up to temperature' in order to complete a successful calibration, not the case, from my experience.
