If you get 2 x 4L containers you will have enough to be able to supply your own oil for the 12000mile service, which will save you money too

It will be fine to mix the two brands of oil until the service, but it is best to stick with 10W60 rather than dropping to 10W40 (Alfa removed this from the latest specs for a reason...)
Also, it would be safer to run with the oil on the "Max" mark rather than running low on purpose, you never know when it could suddenly drink a litre
