Alfa Gear Selectors.jpg
This thread relates to a previous one I have posted. I decided to add a picture to explain the problem better.
I suffered a stiff gear stick for a while and after looking at some posts on this site, I decided to attempt to fix the problem.
I started by removing the cable ends from each nipple (1 & 2 on picture). I then removed the retainers, (which proved to be rather difficult) before removing the nuts in order to release the aluminium 'tray' (3). I then cleaned the shaft/pivot and reassembled.
However, when reattaching the cable end (2) to the nipple, I found that when selecting gears, it would simply slip off. I have pushed it on myself and it seems as though it is secure like the other (1), however it does not lock in place.
As you can see on the photo, I have secured it in place with a cable tie - obviously a very temporary measure.
Is there something I may have to do to the green/white clip things on the cable end or will I have to buy a new cable?
And if so - where can I get one from?
I have browsed some sites but to no avail.
Any advice would be much appreciated
