Just cruising home tonight, enjoying the sunshine when who should pop out into the road? That stupid pheasant - you know the one - well there are no clever ones I guess?
They must be very low in intelligence. If a blue GT was coming towards me at 60 mph, I know I'd get out of the way pretty quick. But these beautiful birds are a little bit dim and seem to enjoy doing a little dance, just before they are battered
I braked as hard as I dared but had a car behind me, so the inevitable happened. A low thud, followed by the traditional explosion of colourful feathers seen in the rear view mirror
I didn't think too much of it, until I got home expecting to have to wipe the pheasant poo from the valance, but no. This handsome male beast had embedded much of itself in my front bumper and caused a 6" split in the panel, just to the side of the grille. That's not gonna be cheap, as it will probably mean a new bumper and paint
Hey ho, I love the country, just watch out for the deer
