Screws and bolts rattling in my 156 door

Hello, I have a 156 and the middle hinge has failed. Not a massive problem, but the screws and bolts holding the hinge have fallen in to the door cavity. They rattle and bang around when cornering!! How can I get to them? I had a quick look thinking I could get behind the door speaker and from above where the electric window switches are, but no you carn't get to the bottom of the door. Any ideas?

Re: Screws and bolts rattling in my 156 door

Two ways:
Entire door panel off which involves taking the door pull handle, screws & speakers removed and then carfully pry with a long flat screwdriver, (A mini V shaped pry bar is ideal) the plastic panel pins that hold the door card to the frame. Then you should be able to get to them through the various cavities in the door frame itself (after carefully slicing the foam soundproof covers for access).

OR If you can't get to them still... Make them come to you!
The same proceedure that you were thinking of plus......
stick some clingfilm or paper to the outer door metal panel (to prevent scratches) and use a strong magnet to coax the bolts/ screws upwards until you can grab them around the removed speaker area.
If you dont have a magnet strong enough, use the removed speaker! That's exactly what it is

Yessssss! Nero black, Black momo leather, sunroof and air con in a 156 2.0 twin spark..... = Heaven, pure heaven

Anyone can give advice on cars like "replace this part, replace that"... Start with the simplest solution and then work your way through it logically... Its a hell of a lot easier and cheaper!
