OK there is no specific resistance to check for as it's a Hall effect device (magnetic pickup), but you can check the wiring,
C 14 - Timing sensor supply +5V
D 2 - Timing sensor earth
D3 - Timing sensor signal
So disconnect the ECU, and connect the terminals on the plug C14 and D2 to a 5V supply, then connect a voltmeter to D2 and D3, pass a steel object through the sensors jaw and the voltmeter should rise to 5V. That will show it's working.
Problem is though that you need to have the sensor out to do that, so find the blue plug on the firewall next to the diesel filter and just put a voltmeter accross the Signal and earth line and watch for voltage change as you turn the engine over.
