iF YOU GO TO THE BATTERRY SIDE then look where the window wiper is ,remove that plastic cover piece and you will see a gromet there Remove the rubber bung make a hole in it feed cable through then put cable through hole....cable comes out under glove box. This is from memory but if any problems will take photo for you over weekend.

Re: Any spare access holes through bulkhead?

I ran the amp supply on my 155 from the battery along the underside of the car to the boot, haven't got round to doing my 156 so I'm not sure about that. I use electrical products from; vehicle wiring supplies, thay advertise in classic car mags etc, they do nylon P clips self adhesive cable clips and stainless steel cable ties. as well as a really good variety of cable including the same ultra fine cable that car makers use to save space. Try fitting some clip on ferrite chokes to protect against rfi at least one at each end of the cable, Maplin or Radio Spares supply them.

yup, under the plastic wiper trim is a spare grommet.

these pics are from my GT, but the 156 is similar (except the 156 does not have an additional 'minor grommet' further forwards). behind the grommet is probably some factory sound deadening 'material' (second pic) which you can also poke a hole through:

pic taken from floor, pointing up behind the glovebox inside the car:
