Re: Disappointed by Insurance Company
If you can manage to pay the lot up front or 2-3 payments your not trapped in a direct debit. You do have a stat right to change your mind and get a full refund for 30 days, so if they sign you up again without your knowledge cancel it and get your money back or take them to the ombudsman or financial services watch dog. Just the threat sorts most things out.
I am really disgusted by all this, insurance company *its.
Some of them expect a small percentage of people to not check other quotes and make money by bumping up the premiums in the second year, when they don't notice. It is out of order, but hey it's a free market!
I got from a £1200 quote, to below £400 for the same cover a few years ago by shopping around, and that was with 8 years no claims bonus! Just because some idiot ran into my wifes car, and one company took a not at fault claim (didn't even claim a penny on our policy) in the same way as any old at fault claim. Odd lot. I still don't see how one claim makes you more likley to claim again?
I know someone who gets cheaper insurance with a former drink driving conviction, than someone else with 3 points for getting caught speeding. How does that work
Ok Rant over...
